Default Alexa: ScionLife.com Overtaking Scion.com?

Hey guys, I was doing some research on traffic stats, etc, today and came across some really interesting information. According to alexa.com, a company that tracks website popularity based on a browser plugin, ScionLife is catching scion.com in daily traffic rank, daily pageviews AND daily reach.

Some believe that Alexa's information may be tainted since it is based on a browser plugin and not a true cross section of the internet-using world, but rankings should be fairly consistant from site to site, even if they don't always represent 100% accurate stats.

The graphs below tell the story, you can look more in-depth here:

I wouldn't be suprised if scionlife.com had more viewers everyday than scion.com

What up-to-date information does Scion.com give us?
Scionlife isn't just a website, it's a community.

True. SL invites recurrent traffic where Scion, once you buy your ride, becomes less necessary for you to visit.

I'm surprised Scion Life isn't the clear winner, by any measure of the stats. Just goes to show you what an advertising budget, the size of Scion's, can do to drive traffic to a site.

Just the same, way to go Darren & Scion Life.

yeah i think as people buy scions, of course scion.com will drop in its number. Its no longer the new car that everyone wants to check out. And no one ever goes back to check on a car they already bought.

Considering that Scion spends a bundle on advertising, etc, it just made me a little excited that we could match them occasionally.

Scion doesn't share it's true traffic number, but we do!

Who goes to scion.com for news and info? I don't, and I work for a Scion dealership. I got the last two Toyota press releases on ScionLife, three days before they were emailed to me by Toyota. Go figure.

Ditto. S/L is definitely the best source for information on Scion.

I think Scion.com will maintain it's present traffic as they bring new models and future RS vehicles. I think Scion Life will grow as well. New owners hitting the streets at the rate Scion is selling cars; just bound to create new users.

Site Stats for scionlife.com:
Traffic Rank for scionlife.com: 55,751 (1,249)

Speed: Very Slow (91% of sites are faster),
I'm not posting this cut and paste to be a jerk, I just want to offer some constructive criticism. In this case, I think the speed number speaks for itself.

Sometimes I have to logoff because I lose patience waiting for a page to load...

I deffinetly agree. I have never seen a web page that takes as long to load as trying to open up threads on scionlife.com Its so aggravating. And it causes double posts because people keep hitting the submit button because nothing happens. And I am on Cable internet!!!

We're aware of the speed problems and it bugs us too. We're actually running on 3 servers right now, but that hasn't helped speed things up much. It's most likely conflict between custom scripts that are running, and we're doing our best to figure out what it is! Darren may have found the culprit and we're crossing our fingers that the next change will fix it.

That's cool. Got it narrowed down at least. Good luck with the hunt/fix.

Pretty interesting.. this could potentially become a big thing if in fact SL does become as popular as Scion.com.. I smell a major business deal or partnership in the making! Good luck guys!
