Default Spacers Info!!

Hey guys,
Looking to put some spacers on my back tires, but I'm not too hot about the price of some of these. I mean, they're only billet aluminum and they're not that big.

What I'm getting to is that I want to make my own. I have the materials, and a machine shop. The only thing missing is a few measurements from them.

If anyone has a set of spacers sitting around and not on a box, could you do me a favor and measure the 4 holes, the distance between them and the diameter of the center hole.

If anyone has a pic of them installed with the tire off, that would also help a lot.

Thanks alot guys!!

What offset are your wheels and what is the width. the spacer should be round and the same size circumfrance as the inside of your rim where it flushes to the drum

That's a terrible idea! If you are trying to make your own, then you should make shims that go behind the drum, not between the wheel and the drum. That way you don't lose threads and your homemade spacer isn't actually rotating. OTG spacers are only $70. Hit up van@onetongarage.com . He makes 10mm spacers. If you wanna go bigger...just measure the 4 bolts behind the hub and make it.

Did you get longer bolts? With stock bolts I could only get 3 turns on my lug nuts with 10mm spacers. I figure you could rock some 5mm spacers safely, but OTG rear spacer shims are the way to go. www.onetongarage.com
I really wanted to do shims and spacers, to push my wheels out 20mm, but I couldn't. I might replace the bolts cause these extra spacers are expensive.
If anyone wants to give some 10mm spacers a shot, I have a pair of red billet aluminum spacers for a 4 lug car that I bought from OTG, but I can't use them. They are $70 a set, but I'll consider an offer.

Damn yo. I'd get longer lugs or take them off. I've you've only got three threads between loosing a wheel...that's not good.

I love using this site as a resource. I have read so much about wheel spacing, I think my head is going to explode. Anyway, I did the OTG shims in the rear and wanted to space the rears out even more. I got a set of 8mm spacers but could only get about 4 turns on the lug. I mean, I had a feeling that this was not safe so I went with 5mm instead. the 5mm spacer is a sure shot right, I mean, I shouldn't run into any safety issues running this set up?

What does changing out the bolts entail? Maybe I was searching the wrong key words, but I didn't have any luck with finding a DIY write up or anything.

I'm not sure anyone has a DIY, but some people have done it. I know someone changed them out for Land Rover studs cause they are about 10 mm longer. I bought some 10 mm spacers from OTG but I can't use them safely, it sucks!

I know, I know, and it would look oh so good!
I will do some more searching, but it can't be that hard to change out the bolts.
I could be wrong.
