Default struts

I need to replace the struts and springs in my 2005 Scion. Is it difficult and will I need a special tool?

what kind of Scion? I am going to move it to the ab/xa section ahopefully hit it right..at least a 66% chance. Pm a super moda and ask to move this if it is a tc

The rear shocks are very easy:

Someone says a spring compressor is needed to remove the front struts, but these instructions jack up the corner of the car to release the spring:

Replacing the front struts is also a convenient time to install a strut bar:
