Default Scion's New Viral Marketing Plan

May be in the wrong section, please move if it is.

Saw the new xA commercial this morning, and during the commercial, a 'hijacked' signal started to play during the commercial, for the new website called Realease The Three. Obviously, we all know what the 'Three' they refer to are, the Release Series vehicles for 2006.

Release The Three Website

With the xB already released, they are putting up speculation about the tC now, but nothing about the xA as of yet. The rumor list for the tC is not what everyone has been saying, as far as I've read into it.

while we're at it, is "upgraded sound and visual" really any information? I mean...obviously it's going to have some kind of upgrade over the standard.

every rumor I've heard has been that the car will be some shade of blue.

Does anyone have confirmation that this site is scion sponsored?

why would they offer alloy wheel covers on a special edition tC when the stock tC's and RS1's had RIMS!...maybe its because they spent more money on the interior?..idk..maybe someone could fill me in.

Well, considering a 'whois' shows the domain owned by Toyota, and the 12 other sites on the server are all Scion sites, and the DNS servers are all Toyota, I'd suspect this is probably a legit Scion site. :D

(Considering just the few reactions here, it looks like the advertising is working - people are interested enough to actually go to the site to see what it's about. )

I like the whole premise of the advertising - and hosting an "in-house" rumor site is an interesting idea.

there are several threads floating around about this and about the R2 tC in general.

the color is going to be a light blue color. the names going around are speedway blue or blue blitz or something like that.

about the only thing of all the info floating around about it i find interesting is that its supposed to relocate the sub to the floor of the trunk.....

otherwise,

allow wheel COVERS? um.. that's hilarious.. I highly doubt that the tC will have WHEEL COVERS.. not gonna happen..

but that upgraded audio, I bet it's Alpine just like the xB.. and isnt that funny, scion came on this forum asking what we wanted and a lot of us yelled ALPINE! now they deliver it in the RS!! Too bad they wouldn't have offered Alpine in the regular cars.. we would've liked that!

But yes I also heard speedway blue as well..

too bad that scion won't offer this same audio system as a regional option for the regular tC!!

im sure people will be getting rid of it. even though the current alpine system they are using (while not the best system in existance) is a damn good one to get from the factory.

only a matter of time before they end up for sale.

and they might just as well give the tC's steelies with wheel covers. they have done it before and people end up getting rid of them because everyone has them, regardless of how good they are (and they are some excellent rims)

I saw this "viral" campaign while watching Matt Birbiglia(?) session on Comedy Central Friday (03/03/06) ~9:45PM ET, hijacked xA commercial. I immediately ran up the stairs from the basement to check out the site. And dissapointed because I thought they would release info on the next 2006-RS at that very moment.

When I recently went in to pickup my 06 BOP xB, I saw pics of the tC in 2 new colors (neon orange and neon green, similar to F&F colors). I figured they were just random pics to promote the tC, but I asked the sales rep if one was the new RS color. He didn't know. I wouldn't be surprised if one of the two turned out to be the newest RS color, considering we got clues as to the new RS3 xB color prior to release.

thats not dark, NB and IIP and SPM are dark.
the blue they are supposed use seems significantly lighter.

and if it is more like the 3 above then thats even worse!
I LOVE blue and all but thats too many blues that are too close to each other.

im too lazy too read all the post so if its been answered im sorry...

but it maked perfect sense to have wheel covers... an dthe reason y is so that you can add w/e rims to want too it... and keep the price low... if your a true enthusiast... your not going to want the same rims everyone selse has... so your going to change em... this way it keeps your from having to pay for the rims on the car.,.. and for new ones

sorry for bad spelling btw
