This was posted on the CNN website at 8:47 a.m. on March 18. Don't know if some of this information has appeared elsewhere, but anyway here it is...
Only two American cars made the list: Pontiac Solstice and Ford Escape hybrid.

To find the 10 hottest cars in America for CNNMoney.com, Edmunds.com, a partner providing data and content for CNN Web sites, looked for three things: Actual selling prices closest to the vehicle's full sticker price; lowest amounts in rebates or other sales incentives; shortest times spent on dealer lots before being snapped up by buyers.
The Prius scores big in all those areas. While all other cars on the list sell for at least some small amount under their actual sticker price, once incentives are factored in, the Prius still sells for 10 percent over sticker price.
On average, a Prius spends just nine days on a dealer lot before being driven away by a buyer, second only to the Mini Cooper, which lingers for just six days. (If a car has an average "days to turn" of less than 10, it generally means the cars are mostly pre-ordered so they have already been sold before they arrive at the dealership.)
In this sort of analysis, Toyota's low-priced Scion brand benefits from the fact that very few of its cars are purchased from dealer inventories. Instead, most buyers order customized versions. Those vehicles are customized before being sent to the dealership. That makes Scion's "days to turn" very low, said Mike Chung, a pricing analyst with Edmunds.com.

When I bought my scion this past summer I called all the local dealers in Pittsburgh and the only place that had one was Rohrich toyota they had 2 a bop auto and a bcp stick.. and you know how much fun an auto can be so I got the BCP out of the showroom.
More good news for the Scion community.
As for the comment about not being able to go to a dealership and just pick up a tC. Well...thats what I did. I knew exactly what I wanted before I went to the dealership, walked inside and the showroom car they had was exactly what I wanted. The only thing I had them add was the spoiler and fogs. I told them I wanted it and last night I picked it up. Some dealers only carry a couple Scions all together but if you go to a medium size dealer they should have quite a few on the lot.

I think the Solstice looks pretty sweet. Kind of retro looking. That will probably be my next car purchase for my wife. Just want to wait a little while to actually see the quality of it. Her 04 Accord EX is still relatively new, so she can wait a little bit. Need to put up the 96 Mazda MX-6 for sale. Our three car garage already holds my wife's honda, my xB, 93 Mazda RX-7, and an 03 Yamaha YZF R6, which leaves the MX-6 odd car out. Geez, if we get the Solstice....4 car garage?, sell the Accord?....decisions, decisions....
