Default Toyo Proxes 4 <VS> Nitto NT 450 [205/55/15]

Ok, I'm going to be buying new tires 205/55/15 and I've narrowed it down to the Toyo Proxes 4 or Nitto NT 450.

Does anyone have any experiance with either? I will being driving mostly dry pavement, with some rain and occasional snow and ice. Any other tire recomendations are fine, but I can get a good deal on both of thoes.

NITTO NT 450

TOYO PROXES 4

Thanks for your help,
Keith

go with the Toyo
the P4 is a wonderful tire
i survived 2 Houston hurricanes (not really but close enough)
on these tires
great in the wet and a real predictable breaking point in the dry

i dont know about the nitto, but i have had the toyo on my a6 quattro. they were real good on that car, stiff sidewall, plenty of grip, lasted about a lil more than a year cause i drove the hell out of em(mileage and aggresivness), great in all weather, and stiff sidewall.

STAY AWAY FROM FALKEN ZIEX ZE-512. put them on the audi cause i needed tires and cheap was the way i had to go. yea def. cheap. i hate those things.

Well, if I may contrast chunk13, I've had The Ziex 512s on two cars -- a 1998 Prelude SH and my xB and I really like them. They wore well, good overall grip in wet and dry. Keep in mind, of course, they're an all-season performance tire.

I owned the Toyo FZ4, the predecessor to the 4, and hated them.

it also may depend on what size u ran, i have 205/55/16's on the audi. the grip is fine, and ware is ok, but goin thru turns i have never had to fite bouncing like i have w/ these tires on and that is y i emphasize stiff side wall so much. ppl that i have talked to that auto-x also say what i do about the ze-512's having a soft sidewall as well as some of the research i did about em b4 i bout em and told myself its nothing, u wont notice it. we also discussed the toyo proxes line and there werent any complaints. some kuhmo ecsta's were hated and some1 said they make one good version of it. pirelli pzero nero's were liked. and a certain michelin that was supposed to be great was also not liked. this discussion was with some of the local vw guys who auto cross and road race. i guess what it boils down to is ur personal preferences, needed applications, driving styles, and affordability.

Malthorne, What size and offset wheels did you put the tires on? Did you need spacers to clear the rear suspension? Any rubbing?
