I'm seeing way too many people with basically the same wheels. Is it me or is this style really getting over used? If not how much longer will it last?

Yes, I'm just wonering what will be the next "HOT" look. I like the black w/polished lip look though but by the time I can get another set of wheels the whole "look" should be about gone.

i think black wheels are overused, but if done right then it look good.
its pretty cool..
but its played out now-a-days... everyone tries to
get black w/ polished lip..

It's all been done!
New items always get dated so it is pure choice....... i'm going to get that style rim and don't give a sh#t who says what..............If it brings out the true beauty of your ride, thats all that matters..............

Even though they are getting popular right now I think that something that looks great today will keep looking great even if other fads come along. The exception to that would be if way to many people get something it won't look unique or original anymore, (thats why i didn't buy the konig unknowns that it seems like everyone is buying)

Well lets see, it's either all chrome, black, gunmetal, bronze, white, black with chrome lip or gunmetal with chrome lip. It's not like you have to many choices out there. I just bought me a set of the black w/ chrome lip. It all depends on what you like. It's just like everyone calling something "rice". If you like it, and you want to spend YOUR money on it then go right ahead. Now if someone else wants to buy it for me, then I will learn to like it and they can tell me it looks good or like shat, until then I just tell them 'DILLIGAF".
I actually just ordered some konig unknowns 17x7's..........Everyone on this site says that everyone has them but i have'nt seen a single car with them......let alone a scion xa............hell i hardly ever scion xa's! Anyway, just wanted to defend the unknown........

My last wheels were a dark anthracite with polished lip... pretty cool and all but I wanted something more unique. One thing I can say in defense of them is that having the centers and inside barrels dark hides brake dust so you clean them way less. With what I'm running now you can see everything inside there.

if you get the same old wheels that everybody has, then yeah it could be considered "played out"
if you have something unusual (my wheels) or highly desireable, like say black center work eurolines or even work netzart spoke2's or something like that then to me, timeless styles like those will never be "played out"
