Default Anyone know...

I am wondering if anyone owns or knows about the wheel brand ICW. I saw them on Wheelguyz and the prices were very good. I would like to know if it is maybe too good to be true so any feedback would be much appreciated...David

I had a set back in the day and they're legit. What's funny about rims is that there is a little symbol on each on that looks like a combination of m and c. What I was told is that it is the foundry mark to represent where the rim was forged. or cast or what-have-you. So anyways, the idea is that the foundry makes the same style rims for multiple companies, and the companies slap their own logos on. Case in point: My friend has the "OZ Edition Lancer". On the outside of his rims reads the logo for "OZ Racing", but on the inside the rim reads "Made by Enkei". See what I' getting at here. Look for the symbol, unless of course they are real high dollar rims, and then who cares, you should know. Hope this helps. To make a short story long.

Actually, that little marking is the JWL mark. From Enkei's website:

JWL-Japan Light Alloy Wheel (JWL) Standard for Passenger Cars. The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport requires that aluminum wheels for passenger cars bearing certain plated numbers sold in Japan bear the JWL mark. The JWL mark can be displayed on wheels that have passed the standard through a self-certification system.

JWL-T-Similarly, the ministry requires aluminum wheels for trucks and buses (with 1 and 4-number plates) to bear the JWL-T mark. Even if a vehicle is classified as a passenger car bearing certain plate numbers and is equipped with LT tires as standard equipment due to its GVW (gross vehicle weight), it must use aluminum wheels bearing the JWL-T mark.

VIA-A third-party entity called the Vehicle Inspection Association verifies whether a product meets the requirements prescribed by the JWL or JWL-T standard. This association permits a product to bear a VIA mark if it passes rigorous quality and strength verification tests conducted in accordance with the JWL or JWL-T standard.

So do you know if Wheelguyz is a trusted wheel dealer or should I try and go through a local wheel place here in my hometown?

You'll usually get a better deal by ordering on the Internet.

I've only dealt with www.tirerack.com and www.discounttiredirect.com.

I made the mistake of ordering from Wheelguyz last week, I've been over a week now and I still have no tracking number for my package and getting through to their customer service is impossible. I do not recommend ordering from that site.
