My question if anyone knows is If i put 18 chrome rims on an xb would the gas mileage plummet? And the chrome rims i'm looking at rims that are 4 lug pattern and will fit. does anybody know? the rims i'm looking at are Baccarat 18x7.5 Passion black rims.

It might go down, but I think plummet might be too strong of a word. I had 18s on my xB (not chrome, but still heavy). With a 215mm-wide tire, I saw a 1-2 mpg decrease in milage.

well the rims i'm going to get weigh about 25 pounds without a tire so i'm guessing maybe 1-3 of epa. how much did your rims weigh sushiboy how big of tires did you have? 225/40?

im getting ready to put my 18s on. Chrome. you cant run 225/40s unless you plan to do some fender work.....

my rims are on 18 x 7.5 with a 40 offset...a lil later than expected.... im running 225 35 18's. with chrome lightweights there just about the same weight as my stocks (just a lil lighter) 225 fit but needed a 5mm spacer. no grinding, no fender work, no problems
