neg. camber on 06 XA
Received a set of Tein H-techs for my 06 XA and hope to have Randode do the install soon. After washing the car today I noticed that the front wheels seem to have a great deal of negative camber already. I don't know if this is normal or not. The alignment specs show the camber settings at less than 1 degree, yet when I put a bubble level across the wheels it's off by at least a third of level (not a very scientific method I know). Should I be concerned or is this normal? If it's not normal I need to have the dealer take care of it before the spring install!
Thanks

less than 1 degree of camber is pretty much "factory specified" purely for the sake of the idiots out there - so that if someone takes a corner too hot, the car will plow rather than swap ends. Also it extends tire life, so 2340592034 mile tires can last that long. Something like 2 degrees of camber will still keep decent tire life as long as the toe is still straight, but will make a big improvement in front end bite. For max grip up front you probably want something like 3 degrees. Say bubye to your tirelife though
Rather than taking it to a dealer now, just wait for the spring kit to be installed. You'll probably want to put it on an alignment rack anyway after the install to correct the toe. Get something like 0 toe and -1.5 degrees front camber, and that'll be nice for a daily driver and still give a little bit of front end bite.
For what it's worth, after I installed my Goldlines on my 06 xA, I took some "home made" camber and toe measurements, and it seems like my toe is still reasonable... so I didn't bother correcting anything (I'm so lazy). The extra camber from the drop along with the front toe out makes the car turn a lot better. My snow tires showed no signs of abnormal wear after 4+ months of driving like that.

Stopped by a local dealership today and compared the apparent camber on a couple new XA's to mine. Mine definitely looks to have more neg. camber. However when I compared it to their demo XB it was comparable. I s it possible it changes once the miles start adding up? According to the specs camber should be less than one degree. Why is it obviously much more?
Thanks!
Thanks!
i have mad camber up front, after swapping in my s-techs, there seem to be no toe problems, so i left it,
but since yours is stock, i would take it to and alignment shop after you get ur springs in, just to be safe
