Default New rims?

I'm a total noob to rims, having never upgraded any on previous cars. The xB lends itself really well to new rims though, so this time I'm thinking about it much more seriously. Of course, it's a learning curve, and my last thread, I learnt a lot.

Whats your opinion on something like these:

http://www.wheelmax.com/product.asp?ProdId=10175

I'm trying to keep the cost down, so I want to be able to use the stock rubber and just transfer it from the steelies. I believe it should fit on these, right? Once the rubber is on, I should be able to just bolt them on in place with no further modifications (yet) I believe.

Is it alright to use the stock rubber? the tires are brand new (102 miles on them today) and new tires are pricey.

This is the style I like ... I'm not a fan of solid black, or chrome ... I like the gunmetal color a lot. Anyone suggest anything else like it?

Lots of questions, not enough money

Wheel design choice is a very personal thing. If it were me though, I would be looking for something in a 15x7 with a lower offset. Maybe even a staggered offset if you can find it for a reasonable price. Maybe something along the lines of 15x7 +30 to +35 offset. The +40 will work fine, but I think you will like the look of the larger lip/flush fitment of the lower offset better.

Check out ebay...you can get good prices on rims, or rim/tire packages if you decide to go bigger...

Without modification or recalibration or anything like that, what size can I easily and safely go up to? 16? 17?

18s are really the biggest you can go until you are forced to run tires taller than stock. That hasn't stopped others from going all the way up to 20s though.

I like those wheels....Gunmetal is my fav too....

I hate I paid the $665 for the Scion alloys, just cuz they were on the car. I'm thinking the xB needs more wheel tho, than just 15's. Even 16's would be better.

As for having more lip, I think the more flush could be good. But as said, it's all about personal taste.

remember that with your stock rubber you're going to be stretching the tire. on a 15x7 it probably won't be super noticeable but when you get a little wider like 15x8 you'll be able to tell. When the tire gets stretch you might experiance a rougher ride and you'll be lower than stock and you're speedo will be thrown off a little more, but i think it looks cool

if you want to keep the cost down check out the private sales here, they're some good deals there and if you want something else theres some pretty low cost wheels in the sponsored section too.

my rims are for sale but they're black not gunmetal

I almost bought that same wheel in a 17, before deciding to go a completely different direction.

I think it's really hot. Get 'em!

Does anyone have those rims on a dark /black xB? If so, can you post pics? I've not come back to any as frequently yet, so once the money comes through ....

Opinions?

I read a thread on here about bad experiences ordering from WheelMax ... opinions on that?
