Default some THIN paint on the back side of the scion xb...

Loading a desk I just bought from Fry's into the back of the xB did this...
The desk was all un-assembled in a cardboard box.
I put in one end of the box, then scooted it in. It was heavy, sure, but it was a 1-man job... I've never had another car ever scratch from loading stuff in it before like this...

Here's what happened:

The paint is like .00000001 thick .... be careful out there...

Wow, thats worse than mine, I got bumped by some idiot in a subaru and the car looks like I tryed to scrape off the paint with a knife. We are definately not blessed with good paint on a car thats only $13,000

It's almost making me want to hit up a nice paint shop and get an extra layer of clearcoat put on. Just for things like this. Sorry to see it bro.

Considering I had the OEM decal and now have the JDM bB protector, I can assure you the JDM one is well worth the extra cash. Both in looks and protection ability. Now it's not going to protect you if you're loading cinder blocks in the back of your box and drop one, but who does that anyway? I have accidently brushed a suitcase against it without any trouble, so in my book it has paid for itself already. Plus it is OEM Toyota. Can you tell I like bB parts on my xB?

I think our paint sucks.I found some scratches after I washed my car.I take special care to keep the wash sponge clean but for some reason it still scratched my hood and front drivers side panel.Iam alittle ____ed about it.You just touch the thing and it scratches.

I have only 2000 miles on my car and have washed it only twice.By the time I have 10000 miles I will need a new paint job.

learned something today -

look on your door sticker - there is a ct/r number there - mine is 1F4.

That's what color touch up paint you need for your particular car... tell them that number when you order. At least that's what tehy told me today.

^yeah but touch-up paint on the original poster's scratch would look awful. Use it for tiny nicks only, and do not use the included brush.

Ehh, I am the original poster, you're correct it does look pretty poor touched up, so much so that I called them and told them the color they sold me was wrong,, that's how I learned this number code thingy.
I used the brush...

and there's not enough flake in the touchup paint compared to the car's coat IMO.

I dunno yet what I'm gonna do next,,,, probably leave it that way.
I have to park outside and sooner or later a hailstorm will take it out anyways here in Dallas :/

Any touch up advice ?
