Default easystreet/fbi rear brackets???

I got the rear FBI airbag brackets(not installed), I just noticed that the airbag port is on the bottom. Is there a way to make it go through the top?
If not, Where can I get the NEW rear easystreet set up for cheaper then airlifts price?

The fact that the air port is on the bottom really bugs me.

The port location has always been my biggest problem with the FBI brackets. I haven't been able to compare in person but my guess is that it allows the rear to sit slightly lower.

As far as the Easystreet kit I would only suggest two places to get the best pricing.

http://www.suicidedoors.com (You will be better off calling.)
http://store.gaugemagazine.com (Use "frmember" as your discount code.)

Suicide Doors may be willing to match the price you get on the Gauge Magazine site. So make sure you have that quote available before you call Suicide. You can probably get the complete rear kit for around $260 shipped. I would however make sure to confirm with whoever you order from that you are getting the NEW rear kit that uses double convoluted bags rather than sleeves.

Thanks RTon20's for all the info you've been putting in on all these air topics. Been a big help.

Well, it looks like i'll be sticking with my FBI brackets cause I already have them and got em cheap off eBay. I just hope my bag port dosent catch too much road debree.

The noise the air compressor makes is too loud. What do you think of wraping the compressor in DYNAMAT?

I e-mailed Easystreet about the rear bags. the old sleeve setup is now replaced with the new bellow setup. you can get the old setup from Suicidedoors for around $240 but the new setup from Easystreet is $395. I need to call Suicide back and see if they have the new bellow setup and how much.

One other thing about the FBI rear brackets that sucks is the way the top of the bracket mounts. The mounting holes are drilled so close to the center of the bracket that you are forced to drill pilot holes for your mounting screws into a beveled/angled surface of your car (it's the "bubble" where the stock bushing was). If you haven't dug into it yet, you'll understand when you get there. I tried drilling new mounting holes closer to the edge of the bracket so that the mounting screws would be on a flat surface, but the brackets are made out of something stronger than I was able to drill through with hand tools. Maybe a drill press would've worked better, but I don't have access to one.

I wouldn't attempt to dynamat your compressor. If you do, chances are you will have a blown compressor in a matter of days. The insulating affect of the dynamat would quickly cause the compressor to overheat. Most likely resulting in a cracked head.

The only decent method for quieting a compressor is to double up on the mounting bushings you use. Basically you need longer hardware and you sandwich your mounting surface between two bushings. This helps to isolate the compressor and in turn reduces noise production cause by the vibration of the compressor translating into the mounting surface. It won't be silent, but you will definitely notice a difference.

I haven't had any probs with my port being on the bottom. I've had my rear bagged since January with prolly 6k~ miles and no probs ... and my fittings hang even lower then necessary since i got an extension that is longer than i needed to clear the spring perch. But yea, no probs for me yet
