i had a yakima rack. I loved it. I prefer Yak over Thule. Thule is more expensive, but I can't stand their square bars + crappy clips.

I agree with Tony. I've sported Yakima racks since way back. Love the quality and versatility. I too cant stand the square bars

I have Yakima as well, and happy with them. I bought the bars new and the accessories used off ebay. I have never used Thule.

I have a Yakima rack. I've never had it on my Scion, but I used it on my Corolla all the time. I did my homework before I bought it, and personally I thought it was a better set up than Thule. Just my personal opinion.

Bloody Sunday, are the clip for thule more fragile, or is it just the fit that is bad.

Nice xb by the way.
Congrats.

I was surprised by the rugged quality of my yakima- it's stout, and fits and locks down just right.

I have no experience with Thule, but they'd have to be some kind of miracle to be any better than the yakima...

They say that Thule is better, simply because it's a swedish brand. And it's more expensive, so therefore it MUST be better. lol

The clips for the yak rack seems more rugged. the clip for the thule just seems weak and cheap to me

I just put the Yak rak on last night. Fairly easy install, fits like a champ. I'm impressed with how heavy duty the crossbars are. It sure does howl in the wind, though. I'm gonna have to get one of those wind deflectors. For those already running Yaks (or Thules), how does it affect your mileage?

Just ran out at lunch and bought the fairing and put it on. Looks great and no more werewolves on my roof.

I used to have a thule for around ten years. Never had any problems with it.
Only got worse MPG when it was full of bikes, I had 2 fork mounts and 2 complete bike holders for it, and when it was full gas went down about 5 MPGs.
