Im about to buy my Tein basics coilovers in about 2-3 weeks. can anyone tell me how they ride,are they stiff etc.....my rims are already flush to the fender. im worried if i should lower it to the point were it hits the tire,should i do that or leave a gap?

the ride on the basics is not too bad depending on how low you go with flush wheels and tires you could run into scrubing issues like any other lowerd car.

you can run more camber, run stretched tires and/or roll the inside lip of the fender.

 

yea i already rolled the lip and im about to also get the -3 degree camber,and stretched tires i have already.

 

if you normally drive on smooth roads i don't really see too much of an issue with the slammed look. Imho the basics was a little harsher in the stock or on drop springs, but managable. it wasn't dropped to tuck the tires so that is some thing you will need to experiment it.

It is something you really have to try and see how much you can talorate. with a rolled lip and -3 camber you sound like your good to go, but I always like to keep it a little conservative. just in case i need to take a detour on construction roads is my mohor concern since there will be a lot of suspension travel and abuse. another thing i consider is for one of the days out of the ordinary when i need to fit 5 people into the box....

when it comes time for show i like to drop it a little more then usual. Other times I would recommend keeping it so you can squeeze 1 or 2 fingers between the wheel well and tire.

 

i had them on my lancer before i had the box and it was about 6 inches from the ground and i scrapped on road kill but anyways it was a nice ride
