Default ....Aftermarker or OEM?.....

Is there a front SWAY bar available aftermarket? YES ^^^^
OR..
Does the XB have one installed from the factory? Yes ....

I was going to spring for a new set of sway bars.
Then I found out that the XB has a thick front sway bar.
It has wimpy bushings, that I replaced with poly-urathine bushings. See the thread link and photo below.

My butkiss tells me that the bumps are muted in the front now.
All you need is the bushings and a rear sway bar

Yep, xBHAWK is right on. Go grab some bushing's, swap them out and presto! You will be surprised what a difference a good stiff bushing make's. The sway bar in the front is fine. The strut tower stabilizer and bushing kit and it will stiffen up the front end plenty. Get a rear swaybar, then it will drive like a slot car.

Does anyone know the part number, because on energry suspension's website the Scion is not listed, so I am not exactly sure which bushings to order.

Default ....The details...

I just went through this mod, so I can clear up some confusion.
Jethro spent the least, he just bought the bushings at an autozone. Take these bushings to the hardware store, buy 2 grade 5 bolts that are 4 inches long. Check thread length, you need at least an inch of threads. Get nylon lock nuts for those 2 bolts. I bought the kit mentioned above from SUNMMIT. I had to replace the bolts anyway, so save yourself some money.
Bushings are bushings, very universal. ( See photo above.)
See the other thread's link and check out other pictures.

Cool Thanks, That makes more sense. Also, do you need a spacer between the bushings or is it okay to just have the washers touching. I am asking because I want to make sure that the stabalizer bar and control bar are parallel. How do you know how much to tighten the bolts? The bushings are the "Energy Suspension" Performance End Link Set, right?

Try this link http://store.summitracing.com/partde...0&autoview=sku

Then buy a 2 4 inch grade 8 bolts and nuts and tighten it. They also have bushing kits for our rear shock absorber .... You might want to check that out also.

Default ....BEEFED BUSHINGS.....

^^YES, TJ's link is what you need!!^^^^

The KIT's instructions say to torque the nut to 13 LBS.

The rear shocks should be replaced with Monroe Sense-a-trac 5987 shocks with or without bushings.

No spacer needed with these beefed bushings, see photo above.

The bushings come with washers. Line them up as shown and attach sway bar to lower control arm with bolt, bushings and nut.

This set is another that will work:

Here is the part number I got from AutoZone. Energy #9.5164R Most AutoZones should stock them or be able to get the next day from their warehouse. Then just get 2 grade 5 4inch long bolts and 2 nylock nuts. Total mod cost was under 20 bucks.

WOW! I just checked that Summit link and they have the same pieces damned cheap. That's about half what AZ wants. If shipping isn't more than 5 bucks you could save a few more bucks going that route instead. Good find indeed!

I just tightened mine till the bushings started to squish. Then counted the number of threads showing so I could make the other side match. You will notice an improvement. This is a MUST do Mod IMHO!
