Default strut tower bar for 06 xB

Has anyone heard of fitment issues with the 06 xB when installing front strut tower bar?

save your money for something else. strut tower bars are useless on our cars since the towers ar basically attached to the firewall.

There shouldn't be any issues. I'm an '06 xA'er myself and see that most things are listed for up to '05's. The DC Sports bar was listed like this too, but fit my '06 xA perfectly.

heyAlex...you should drive an xA or xB with the strut bar. It deffitely makes the response much quicker. A little too quick for me until after I put a rear sway add on and now it's almost perfect.

Oh and BTW....I'm loving my RS-R GTII exhaust that I got from you INTENSE. Working on talking a buddy into getting some headers for his Civic and will hit you up if he does.

I have. I'm glad I didn't spend money on it.

could also be the placebo effect.

but if you think structurally, the strut tower bars are right there on the firewall, which is a huge stiffener. I just don't see how a bar could make much of a difference.

I'm not doubting you, I'm just wondering if it really makes a true difference.

I put the TRD strut bar on...no issues and took just 20 minutes. Noticed less body roll on the cloverleafs getting on and off the highways and when cornering hard.

They're more a cosmetic/show piece than performance.

I used the straight across Megan strut bar, had to wrap it in foam and thread it thru the curlique fuel line on my '06...

As joshsbox points out, the effect is more for cosmetics, or maybe one of the finishing touches to a tweaked suspension...

The progress rear swaybar is another matter entirely- the effect is readily apparent and very positive...

It's the one mod I recommend to anybody with an xB- emergency handling is much improved, and the effects of strong gusty crosswinds minimized...

Hotchkis on the front. It's chrome. It looks good.

Progress on the rear. Immediate difference. I just put it on this morning (easy). I'll roadtest it this after and let you know.

Between the two, I'm set.

They make a noticable difference in reducing flex under hard cornering. Make the whole front end feel more solid.
As far as the fitment issues. There should be none. They havent changed anything in that regard since the release of the xB for the US market in 03'.

BTW, I'm running the Whiteline rear bar and it made a HUGE improvement over the stock set-up. TRD, Progress and Whiteline rear bars are hellova products IMO.

sorry, but it's wishful thinking on your part. Think structurally, how can you make something stiffer when it's right on the firewall??

Maybe if you had a whole front end brace which linked the strut tower bars to the front end, then it'd be worthwhile.

That's what I thought at first but I drove it for 2 weeks before installing it and it did make a difference. Honest.

Did you have one installed then removed it? Or you just never tried one?

I've driven xB's with it on, and haven't noticed any difference.

Strange. Maybe it was the bar you used didn't work right. I have the DC carbon steel one with 3 bolt holes per side. It tightens both strut towers together and actually works.
