Default 15x6.5 vs. 15x7 rota slipstream?

If your using the stock rubber you can go with either width. I personally would go with the 15x7.

They should both work fine, but with the 7s, you may need the OTG shims in the rear to keep them from scraping the strut. What offset are those two wheels?

FWIW, I have a set of 15x7 +38. When I was not running the otg spacers I was completely fine. No issues. Even with my 17x7 +40, I had no issues.

I have those wheels in 15x6.5 on stock tires. I have had no problems.

both would be a +40mm offset.

Max: do you have any pics of how flush the wheel is w/ the wheel well? Thx.

Yes, and they do not sit flush. Spacers or shims would be nice. This is the closest I could find to what you are looking for.
