Default Need some advice on what size tire to use

hey. so i'm thinking of ordering a set of sportmax 006 17's for my car. the offset is +35 but the wheels are 8' up front and 9' in the rear. i know i'll need a 15mm spacer for the rear so i'm definately cutting it close as far as rubbing is concerned.

my main question is what size tire to use for the rear. i plan on running 215/45 for the front but i'm not sure what to put on the rear. i'm not a fan of hyper stretched tires. i dont like the look or the way they ride, but i know i'll have to give in a little to make these work on my xa. what do you guys suggest? i'm lowered on s techs so i'm not insanely low or anything.

anyone have any experience with a 9' wide wheel on an xa? i know xb guys go crazy with the offsets and width, but i drive my car everyday and don't want to have to buy tires every 3 months or hate the ride quality. i know you can't have your cake and eat it too but there has to be some balance.

here's a link. and btw, the wheels would be painted either gold or lime green. haven't decided yet. i hate black wheels.

215/35/17 in the front and 215/40/17 in the rear.

According to my favorite tire size calculator (http://www.rims-n-tires.com/rt_specs.jsp?postId=906), the size tire you need is 235/35-17. I don't know if they make that size, but 225/35 or 225/40 would also fit.

matty- dude, the rear would be stupid thin as far as sidewall is concerned. not my thing but thanks.

fmod- which tire would provide the most sidewall? i think i'd really like the 235/35 though. i just dislike stretch soooooo much.

I just did a quick search on TireRack.com and there are no 235/35-17 tires. There are two 235/40-17s, and one is BFG g-force sport for $89 each. Those also come in 215/45 for the fronts. The 235/40 will be a bit taller in the sidewall but should provide a nice look.
