what do spacers main purpose? to push the wheels more outside so that they line up with the fenders or?.. and how do u figure out what spacers to run?..noob needs some basic knowledge on spacers.. please help!!

 

Yep, to bring the wheel more flush with the body. They are also used to make a wheel hubcentric if it isn't. Here is an example of a hubcentric spacer:
