Default HELP!! Cracked RS 1.0 Wheel!!!!

OK..Blew a tire on 95 going to Myrtle Beach and now I have a crack on the lip of my 17" Enkei wheel! Got 2 new tires but the one with the crack has a slow leak.(Duh) Questions are, 1)should I have the rim repaired ?(I heard approx. $200; IF I can a find a place to do it) 2) My BF says to get new wheels all around (Yeah-HE'S not spending his $$ on 'em) 3) Try and find a replacement Enkei (HA! I've been lookin') So, that's my dilemma. Does anyone know of a place around Harrisburg/Lancaster/York PA area that could fix my wheel?? Best priced place to get rims? Replacement xA RS 1.0 wheel??

I was also wondering, since it is a xA RS 1.0, should I keep the original wheels on it cuz of the limited edition and all?? I was thinking that may be the way to go cuz of its availability and all. ???????????????????????

You may have a hard time finding a shop with deep enough pockets to accept responsibility/liability should their repair fail.
For safety sake the wheel should be replaced.

try the dealer, maybe they can order a new one, or it could be covered under warranty, since it came with the car

Look in the back of some car magazines. Or you can just google it. There are some pretty good companies out there that will do it. If they don't think they can fix it and do it safely they won't do it. I tried to get a wheel fixed once, but they stated it was bent in two directions and couldn't fix it.

You could always keep an eye out on ebay for a used set. Like everything on ebay, someone will have one or a set on sale periodically.

Why spend 2 bills just to repair it? The dealer should be able to get a new one for it no problem for about the same price. Heck you might find someone on here that has some just laying around. Unless it is some kind of wheel that has been out of production for a long time it just isn't worth repairing. IMHO

Hey, Thanx for all your help. I went ahead and got new wheels and have my originals boxed up. I'm goin' over to the dealer tomorrow and see if they can't replace it or something. I'm kinda glad I went ahead and bought new ones...it's almost like I got a new car-since it REALLY changed the look!!!

Thanx, again!!!!!!!!!!

Put it this way. The wheels came on a limited edition car. The dealer has to stock them for a set amount of time just incase something like this happens. You should be able to order one through the dealer as a replacement part.
