Default XB Wheel Rim options / Ideas?

Hi everyone. I am sorry I know nothing about rims. All I know is that I should have got them at the dealer because I hate the wheel caps. Does anyone know the kind the dealer sells and how much they cost? or can anyone recomend some good cheap rims.

Thanks !

Go to www.scion.com and build a xB, add the TRD rim option to see the cost. Very pricey$$$. Ebay is a good source for total packages. Watch out for high shipping cost and lug options.

edgeracing.com has very very cheap wheels and tires. I have yet to order from them so I cannot give an official review but everything I hear sounds good. Later this week I am going to be ordering tires from them. If you are wating around a while I will let you know how their shipping goes.

I got mine from www.edgeracing.com. Fast shipping, good price. Tracking numbers provided and all that... Even the website is easy to use.

I would definitely shop with them again.

Check eBay. I recently won some 18" TRDs with good tires and lugnuts for just $760...shipped to my job...

P.S. Be sure to check the feedback of the seller, VERY IMPORTANT... :D

One more thing - If you buy local you may be able to test fix to see if they rub. I have 18" with 40s and TRD lowering - no rubs...well full locked and slamming slight!

Thanks for all of the ideas. I think I will order off one of the websites. Now for two really stupid questions. Can I use my stock tires on the wheels and can I take them anywhere to have the tires put on the wheels?

1: Yes. 15" wheels no wider than 7" will be fine. Wider than that is pushing it.

2: Yes. Should run you under $100 for mounting, balancing, installing.

If you do go to a local place with aftermarket wheels, tell them that when balancing to NOT IN NO WAY AT ALL put those weights on the outside of the wheel. They look ugly and scratch your wheel. There are weights which stick to the middle of the wheel. Tell them to use those. It should be common sense, but make sure to tell them that.

Sure if you buy 15" rims. I'm not sure of the width the stock tire can handle, maybe 6". If you buy the rims any shop should be able to transfer the tires.

I recommend Discount Tire Direct. Good prices and quick shipping.

You really ought to look into getting better tires while you're at it. The stock Goodyear LS tires are pretty widely derided on a number of fronts; BF Goodrich Traction T/As get good marks from lots of folks. While you're at it, you can also get 185/65s instead of 60s, and smooth out your ride a bit more.

On the other hand, yeah, new tires do cost money, don't they? Bummer.

Discount Tire seems to be the place. got my set ( X Wheels X-6's 17x7) plus tires for a little over 800. Of course I got quite a discount because my brother in law is a manager at one, but I'd still recommend them. You can go to tires.com to check out what all they have.

I would recommend keeping the stock wheels/tires for winter.

If you are concerned about fittment/appearance -PLEASE please please learn about offset before you make a purchase.

the tire shops do not have a clue what would work on the xB, unless you get lucky and bump into someone who's done one before. Shoot, even the DEALERSHIPS will sell you wheels that _do not fit_ on the box (+45 offset).

do you mind if we move this thread to the wheel/tire area of the site? might get a lot more valuable input?

Take a squint at
https://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=68146
and
https://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=129019
as a start, and look in

for even more info.

LOTS of choices, most cheaper than the dealer...

Enjoy!
