Why do you need all season tires in San Diego? It is 75 degrees there 365 days a year isn't it?

The BFG traction t/a and Falken ziex 512 are both highly regarded as all season picks.

The BFG's have a better treadwear warranty, but the Falkens are considerably less expensive, particularly in 195/60R/15. From what I can tell, our boxes' speedometers are really calibrated for 185/65/R15, the size tire delivered as oem in Japan... basically the same diameter as 195/60/15 and 205/55/15...

I'm leaning to the Falkens, myself, hope to have them on before the snow flies around here...

Falken Ziex ZE-512

That tire beat out many other expensive all-weather tires by leaps & bounds in a Consumer Reports tire test. (^_^ )

According to the numbers, it'll be off just a little bit more than the stock tires, with the speedo calibration actually being for 185/65/15 tires-

Calculator here-

The subject has been discussed at length before- run a forum search for speedometer error, speedometer, odometer and stuff like that to get a more complete picture...

I don't have any trouble finding them on the Discount Tire site, although it looks like they're charging more in San Diego... Tires> Shop by brand> Falken

^ Yes. You can take them to any tire shop.

If you want to get a slightly wider tire & keep the speedometer accurate, according to the 185/60-15 tires that you have, get these in the 205/55-15 size. That's the size that I run. If you have rims that are at least 7" wide, you can get these in the 225/50-15 size as well. (^_^ )

If you order them from the Discount tire site, you'll be able to make an appointment at the nearest Discount tire store to have them mounted up.... just follow through the order process, you'll see how it works... they'll have the tires on hand, waiting for you...
