Default In Japan now and things are a little diff tein JDM

So I bought my BB just 5 months ago and now I have been using scionlife as a refrence.

First the BB here has diff suspension options, mine came lowered stock, oh its a 2000. the back hatch is diff too. the springs are not the trd, at least that is what I think. they are plain black with no trd logo.

www.goo-net.com/cgi-bin/goojp/used/

mine looks the same as the one in this link as you can see the bumper back are a little diff

I am going to get a set of jdm tein coilovers "low down spec light weight master Super compact" long enough tittle or what?

they are rated at 4kg/mm F and 3.2kg/mm R 224lbs/inch fr and 179lbs/inch RR. they come with EDFC. anyone try these yet?

And the VVTI engines do not have spark plug wires, they have solid wires. The gearing is diff too, so it seems.

funny stuff TRD Japan does not have the rear anti-sway. no one seems to make rear sways for the BB here But tein might I have not checked on that yet.
I am in the midst of setting up a turbo system for the BB using the Garrett turbo from the R34 skyline. They wher twin turbo so one ought to do it. A/r is w8 and some came with ceramic inner.

I hope all goes well at the months end I have to get the coilovers

Link is now clickable (without loading the language...one can still see your bB). I like the color btw.

Your link/image is not working, but thanks for posting. I take it you have the 1500cc engine. Have you driven a xB? A lot of people here try to get the rear hatch you have in order to be more JDM. There is a huge market in bB badges here. How do you like the looks of the new bB? We are not going to get a version over here it seems. Good Luck to you.

To tell the truth when I came to japan I was bent on getting my mazda 323 GTX 1.8L 4WD,180hp stock the gtr version 210 hp. But the wife insisted on an automatic, so i looked aroound and it came down to 2 cars the BB or the Cube, drove them both. the cube had no guts, and th interior finish was very plasticy cheap looking I felt like i was driving a kia. the choice was clear.

I have come to love this box of a car, i need to tweak a bit. I drive 1 hr a day to work and another hr back so, I need to drive my way.

this thing come with all the options, I have a NAVI (gps navigation) and power everything + remote entry sunroof, and when i turn the ignition off the car goes off 30-40 sec later. so when turbo goes in no need for turbo timer.

If shipping wa not so expensive I would send out some parts but a hatch may be forebodingly expensive. I have sent some parts to a friend, AFCII profectB bov etc..

Mostly light stuff.

They have places caled UPGARAGE here which sell new and used car parts, all the parts are taken off cleaned sealed on shelves. It is like walking into a futureshop for used parts. they have coilover, and springs all over i found 4 sets of coil overs for my bb but they were not what i was looking for.

that is because you bought a gen 1 bB. the hatch will not have the lic plate, it will be in the bumper.
also, the front and rear bumpers will be thinner.

no sparkplug wires on ours. it is called coil on plug.

Where are you located in Japan. I will be in Nagoya and Aichi in October and November and I would like to buy some Japan only mods for my xB while I am there. I want to find some close shops where I can buy parts and either ship them back or back them in my extra luggage. I just want some small things like the power folding outside mirrors and maybe some interior mods and badges.

I leave here on October 27th and we leave Japan on November 4th. I don't have each days schedule yet, but I know we are spending 2 or 3 days at a conference and the rest is for site seeing. Toyota is sending me on their nickel first class airline tickets and daily per diem for food and entertainment. I am really looking forward to the trip.

We are staying 2 days at the Marriot in Nagoya, and 5 nights at Hotel Meitetsu in Toyota City Aichi. Any good custom auto shops, or custom motorcycle shops around either of those? I am not sure what we will have for transportation, but I have a subway and train map. I think on Nov. 2 we are going to Mt. Fuji by way of bullet train, other than that I am not sure what they have planned. I know Oct. 28 and 29 when we are at the Marriot are free days to do what we want.

I am not to sure about shops for custom work. I see alot of people with the bB but most are not moded, they just have aftermarket rims and tires.

But I may be able (if I am not working, I will check my schedual) to take you to Autobacs which is the future shop of car parts, and for used parts I can take you to up garage. Upgarage has new and used parrts mosdtly aftermarket parts, coil overs bovs, safc, avcr etc... the parts are off the car cleaned , wraped and taged. I donot yet speak much japanese so I may not be too useful in helping you get parts specific to the bB.

My bB is still stock, but not for long.
So far I have accumilated the following parts:

Greddy e-manage Ultimate
Garrett turbo off skyline new, .48 A/R ceramic innards to lower bearing load= faster spool
Pregress rear sway bar
Dc front Strut bar
fan controller
160 thermostate
blitz bove
intercooler, to fit directly behind fake grill, soon to be made functional
poly endlink bushings and mount bushings for front sway bar

When I get $$
17" SSR rims very light
Tein ssp teil coil overs
I will try to post pic need to was the bB badly.
Oh by the way when does the XB shift in you hold the throttle down (auto) my bBshifts at 6000 RPM so I am happy about being to utilize the trubo very well.

Though I have moded many a turbo car this will be my first VVTI project I am both exited and a little concerned as it is my only mode of transportation

Talk to you soon
