Default Im an idiot and i think i destroyed a stock steelie

So today i took that step that few make and decide to teach my Girlfriend to drive stick. Amazingly she did well on the moving part but not so well paying attention as to where we are going. Long story short close call to crashing into a bus and we took the curb. The stock has a little curb rash which doesnt bother me but the rim lip has a centimeter section where it was bent up a hair just enough to be noticed. We pulled into a parking lot and i took the cover off and rebent it with a rock and then a hammer. Is it safe to drive on or do i need to purchase a new stock wheel

Not sure, you could take it to a tire shop and ask them.

Now you know why those driver training cars have two sets of brakes!! Sounds like you are ok on the rim--keep an eye on the tire pressure.

Don't worry, it'll be fine. Steel is amazing stuff. Just jack up that corner of the car and spin the wheel. Look for where it's not even and bend it back with a hammer. If it's bent in too much, just take a crescent wrench, clamp it on the lip, and bend outwards. As long as the bead is still straight, the tire will be ok.

im taking it to a tire shop tommorow. I used the mall parking lot for practice and when she did well taking off and shifting i thought it was fine. It still is holding pressure so i guess im lucky but we will be staying in the mall lot for a while. With one hand on the e brake

You need to jack the car up and spin the wheel, see if it's out of true... sometimes hitting a curb can bend the rim axially... with the rim section out of line with the center section... it'll vibrate at speed, and be impossible to balance...

The tire shop guys can definitely figure it out...
