the best suspension upgrade for performance is.....?
....what i'd like to know!
my dad was about to buy himself an STI and then flaked out but it made me want to make my xb a little more fun to drive. I'm looking for the best performance period, bearing in mind i'll probably have a sub/box in the back. drop doesn't matter to me.
tell me model/maker, price, and ups and downs.
thanks a lot, much appreciated!

Best performance period like you wouldn't care if the ride was rough - ... that's kind of tough. Well IMHO.
Here is what i'd do first...
Whiteline Rear Sway Bar -- $140+ ---- www.gtworx.com
Ground Control Coilovers --- Custom Spring Rates F/R $500+ --- You can customize these coilovers with custom springs...stiff or soft. Don't mess with soft butt lowering springs.
Koni Adjustable Strut/Shocks --- $500 -- Adjustables are good. Dampen those stiff coilovers.
Misc. Chassis Stiffening = DC Sport front strut tower bar.
Anyone else? If i had the money, i get this setup first. You can get the Koni's revalved for your spring rates. But if custom spring rates are not for you. H&R Racing springs could be just your ticket. They're about 200 dollars and are performance oriented.
Get tires next ... Kumho MX - Falken Azenis RT-615 .. it'll hang.

thanks for the reply, any other suggestions? i don't want the ride to be horridly unpleasent but my main interest is handling and having fun with this car (because i think i'm going to end up driving it for a while.)
personally look at your road conditions. wheather or not your gonna be driving it all year round. i'd look into a nice set of performance shocks and sturts then get some progessively(sp) wound springs.
The best suspension upgrade for an xB is one of the aftermarket rear swaybars, either from Progress, TRD, or Whiteline. It'll improve handling more than any other single change. After that, lightweight alloy rims and sticky tires.
For sheer fun to drive factor, I really like my TRD axleback exhaust- it's inspirational, without being obnoxiously loud...

The Whiteline rear bar is the single best thing I did to mine to improve cornering. Next the Progress urethane bushings for the front stock bar. Then the rear Monroe shocks for smoother ride over stock ones.
