Default Rim question

I've finally found the wheels I want, Konig Incidents. But I'm not sure about what size to get. I want to get 18's but then the guy said I might damage them since I will have less side wall with 35 series tire, than if I get 17's with 40 series tires, and it got me worried. Have any of y'all had any problem aside from hit'n curbs? I'm thinking he just wanted to sell me what he had in stock and not have to order the 18's. Or could I run a different series tire without rubbing ? Thanks for y'll input!

The 17's are more practical from a ride and durability standpoint. I think the guy was being honest with you. Either size will work without rubbing--but you do have less sidewall with the 18 inch wheels.......

Konig wheels are my favorite. I went to Discount Tire and was looking at 18"s too and I was told the same thing. I was also told that the low profile tires only last 15,000 miles or so. I drive 15,000 miles a year and I decided to just run on my steelies for a little while longer because I don't want to buy new tires every year.

Iv'e got 20,000 on my 17 inch tires with more tread left. Look for the tread, weather, and speed rating on tires when you buy.
