Default A Dilema approaching

I used to own a set of 17" exel rims that weighed about 22 punds each and I hated them because my car was so slow. I decided to sell them but I am geting tired or steelies. Wanted to know how big of a difference a 14 pound rim would fare against a 17 pound rim; is it that noticable cause my old rims felt like I was pushing boulders(before my peformace upgrades)What would you do?

Offset 42

usually the link doesn;t work just click 17" wheel and then go down to the third one with a standard 4x100 bolt pattern that are $79 each

Motegi Trak Racing
$280
42 offset

My question for the day is this. If you had to choose would you rather buy cheap rims and hope they don't break to heck or spend some more money and get rims tha I believe that are lighter than stock. The $79 rim is sorta light(17 pounds to be exact) or the motegi traklightweight rims that are 14 pounds each but are 3 times as much

Taking a poll and put your 2 cents in

I wasn't able to see which Motegi you were looking at(didn't see one called trak racing) But I would say it all comes down to a matter of money. Can you swing the extra cash for the more expensive wheels? Yes I am sure that they are probably nicer than the $79 ones. As for the wait I couldn't tell you. But I wouldn't think that 3lbs. would make a huge difference. Anyway back to trying to decide on wheels for my car.

It's also important to consider offset. The Falken Hanabis on edgeracing.com are under 17 lbs and have way better offsets. I've seen the bronze one in person and they are pretty hot, especially on a black or white car.

Just my 2 cents.

If you can afford the lighter wheels, go with them. The xB is not a real barn burner off the line. It can use all the help you can give it. My wheels are a little heavier than either of the two options you are looking at -- I regret it every time I have to step on it to deal with city traffic.
