Default Sport Max 002 Quality?

Does anyone have any comments on the quality of the Sport Max 002 wheels? I am thinking about getting a set, but I get a little nervous when I can get all four wheels for $400 shipped across the country. Thanks. Chris

Edit: Any comments on the black ones specifically?

Default Sportmaxx performance issues

I was going to get these for my box but shyed away due to worries of rubbing, tire wear, offset woes, and performance. I decided to go with a set of Rota Circuit 8's instead. I'm quite satisfied with the wheels, but would still like to one day get a set of Sportmaxx 002s for the true JDM look. Can you please share your experiences when you get these installed on your box? I too had 18s this summer, but couldn't stand the harsh ride, poor fuel economy, and decreased acceleration anymore. All these factors ultimately lead to my purchase of the Rotas.

xbboxjdm - I do not plan on getting the 15 x 8 with +0 offset. I think I'll be getting 15 x 7 with +35 offset. With the latter, the negative issues that you discussed should not be an issue. Any one else?

You can run the 002's without fender flares even if the box is lowered. I think the box needs to be dropped running these rims because it just doesn't look right. But I have a problem where all cars need to be lowered. If your not dropping it you should be fine. The most you will have to do is roll the lip in the rear wheel wells. I plan on running a set next spring when the weather is nice again. My setup will be 002s dropped on df210s, roll the rear and run some rear camber plates.

thats exactly like i have, except i have carbon flares waiting to get installed and prolly getting the camber shims for xmas. make sure you run 195 45. 205 50 wont work good.

with a little stretch in tires, rolling the lip and some camber, the wheel should sit aggressively, yet very tasteful. the quality of the wheel is not bad, of course they are not the same as HRE, Work, BBS or SSR wheels, but for the price I can't complain
