Default Shocks/Springs Questions

I am looking at buying an xB and after looking through these forums I have a couple of questions I hope you can help me with (Actually I have a couple of hundred, but I will wait on those util after I get my Xb). I will probably drive my Xb from the dealership to the shop to have this done.

Iwill want to lower my box about 1 to 1.5" (I am a family guy and this will be my daily driver)

So.......

1. Are the Monroe shocks my best bet for ride quality (vs coilovers, etc..)?

3. Do the front Monroe Struts help with ride quality (vs just the rear)

2. Does it matter what kind of springs I use to lower it (i.e. TRD, etc..)?

Thanks for any help you can provide. I have been in awe of his board since I started reading about all the great things that have been done to your Xb's

If ride quality is important, go with some Tein H-Tech springs and Monroe 5987 rear shocks. Expect a drop of about 1.5 inches.

This was my first setup on my Box and it kept my wife and 4 year old comfortable. I later went with some S-Techs which were still fairly smooth, but not as much as the H-Techs.

Here's a pic on H-Techs and stock steelies for reference.

For a mild drop of 1 inch go with the H-techs or the TRDs. Leave the front stuts stock and get the Monroe 5987's out back. They don't make a direct front replacement for the xB yet. I figure by the time they do my front struts will be worn out.
Your family will fully enjoy the new ride quality.

Not sure of the number but there is a Monroe rear shock for 2 inches of drop and just run the stock front struts. It shouldn't be all that much bounce.
