Default Installing A Carbon Fiber Hood

So I just placed a last minute order through the deal going on with fastscions for an oem motorfx carbon fiber hood. I've never installed one before, but I figure it's a simple bolt on right?

So I wanted to know exactly how the install goes? Can I do it myself, and what should I expect?

I ordered one with the nozzle holes pre-drilled so should the sprayers just slip in from the top?

Thanks in advance for the help guys, I know I can always count on scionlife!

on a scale 1 to 10 it like a 3 it very easy to install i installed 2 all by my self one on a celica one on a TC only thing is if doing it by your self lay tows over the sides so if the hood falls or slides on side wrong it wont scratch any thing, BUT I am going to recommended that you have a 2nd person it will go much faster and easier to line up take you 20 min MAX with 2 people. and yes the sprayers will drop in from top and clip into place simple.

sometimes they can be tricky to line up... fitment on mine was a little off, had to play with it to get it lined up properly... other than that, its easy...

have a friend or two to help. make sure fitment is good. change hood shocks and make sure the hood mount (the closing/locking mechanism) is lined up.

Ive heard bbist hoods have bubbles in the clearcoat and bad finish (like my spoiler).

So I went with motorFX.

Blake youve had no problems with yours in the sun and stuff? Like fading and junk?

Newbie question here...is the carbon fiber hood used simply because it weighs less? Please enlighten me, thanks.

http://www.scikotics.com
we plan all our events and get togethers in the louisiana chapter section...
we're in the works of doing a regional meet after thanks giving... ron at all star is in the works on putting something together at the begining of the year... you should check us out and hook up with us at the next meet, we're still trying to put it together, maybe you could help out with some suggestions or ideas...

back on topic... devin, the only carbon fiber after market parts that will be perfect will cost you more than $500... the workman ship that motorfx and bbist is very well put together... i havent had any major issue with mine that i couldnt fix or get over... mine hasnt faded at all, mainly cause it didnt come from ebay the fitment is not 100%, you will have to play with it... just dont spank it, its fragile
