Default Debadged - color difference

So I finished debadging this afternoon. The xB came off without a problem, however, the Scion emblem revealed a light stripe right where the "SCION" part was. So now, from about five feet away, you can see this light stripe of color where the badge once was. Not a huge deal, but I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts as to making the color difference less obvious. Thanks.

Should've taken it off earlier... overtime it'll leave more of an impression of where it was on the paint, which is most likely the case here.

It seems like the fading is the reverse of what I would expect. It's lighter than the rest of the hatch, I'd think that it would be the opposite. Oh well...

When I first debadged my car I was ____ed off about the marks and the off colors. But after using Carnuba cleaner wax you can't tell that there was a badge there.

No, the badges are held on by double stick tape... really resiliant tape, I might add. It takes a little work to get everything clean, but the hatch looks really nice after debadging.

The paint under the badges is virgin. Wax the area good and let it get used to being exposed. It should "catch up" with the surrounding paint in no time.

Yea, I think that's the key... I haven't had time to wax, but I did a quick wash over the weekend and the color difference is not as obvious.

I debadged and detailed mine the same day. This worked for me.
1. Wash with good soap. (meguiars nxt is my fav.)
2. Clay bar do the entire car, really work the clay over the area the emblems were.
3. meguiars has a 3 step system, the 1st step is a paint cleaner. It is a chemical cleaner with no abrasives. Use it. Use it liberaly over the spots with the emblems.
4. polish with step 2
5. Use a high quality wax. I know it seems like a lot of work but it will make every thing very uniform . You can't tell that my car was debadged. When I did this initially you could only tell if you looked really close.

I'm actually thinking about painting the emblems BCP and re-badging it ,but in a custom sort of way.
