just got it today from the UPS man. Should i install it or have somebody istall it for me. I got a quote from someone and they said theyll do it for 80 bucks all around. 20 bucks per spring. alot of money but i just dont want to F it up. I know we have DIY here but whats the hardest part of the install? and what tools would you need?

 

i had tein s tech before. i F d my box up when it fell of the jack stands. make sure you jack both sides up. making sure the torsion bar equals. if not one side will be higher than the other and it'll be a hassel to put the struts back in. you need a spring compressor. if not you can just find a couple of hose clamps and clamp the tension down. so when you take of the top nut it won't shoot out. to take the top nut off. you need to secure the top hat and lower hat. so when you crank the nut. the shaft wont spin of you. there are holes if you look. i just used a long screw driver and stick it through making sure the top and bottom hat won't spin. BUT if you have an impact gun you won't need to secure them. impact gun highly recommended. will cut your work in half. for the rear you don't have to do much, don't even have to remove the wheels. just remove the rear shocks bottom mount and the springs will fall right out. it's easier if you have a jack holding up the rear axle in the center when putting back the springs. after positioning the springs, jack up the axel and put baq the shocks. and ur done. do it ur self with some help. save money and learn to work on it.

tools- spring compressor or hose clamps
12mm wrench (three mounting nuts)
14mm socket (ABS and brake line bracket)
19mm socket (top nut and strut bolts)
something to secure the two hats (if no impact gun)
rachet
torqe wrench (ask around for torque specs. pm me if you want)
breaker bar (if need)
socket extenion (long enought to clear you break shied)
IMPACT gun if accessible.

If you can afford the 80 bucks (which is a great deal) then have a shop do it. At least you will know it was done right and if there is a problem you can take it back to them. Plus it takes all the headache off of you..lol.

 

my dad and i did it ourselves, never did them before. Super easy dude. dont waste the money on a shop,we swapped out stocks for df210s and changed the front breaks in an hr and half. Real easy dude, check the right up someone threw on here. thats what i went by.. good luck.

 

Do the rears yourself and have someone else do the fronts if your not comfortable. The rear is real easy.

yeah, im getting all of them done tomorrow... im going to ask him if he can roll my fenders as well...anybody have any idea of what a good deal is to roll fenders?? Im thinking of getting the sportmax 002 in the near future so i might as well do that

you wont regret it... completely changes the look of the car. Makes the car look longer...as soon as i got back to the shop to pick up my car, i was shock at how good it looked.
oh and it definitely makes it easier for me to clean the roof as well
