scanguage saved my life!
ok... maybe that's a bit dramatic...
but it saved me a ton of cash. here's how it went down.
Normally I'm haulin butt and thumpin hard. between my exhaust and my stereo, I'm not really hearing much else.
so, the MPG on the scangauge got me intrigued, and I started to slow down a lot, kinda fun seeing 650Mpg show up on the gauge. I had totally laid off the throttle, and in between songs, I heard a rear suspension rattle.
I had just a week ago gone from my 18's to my steelies for winter, and torqued them all down to spec. I left my rear hubcentric spacers on.
put the backend up on jackstands today, and found that I had one HELL of a wobble on the left side. I guess I learned the hard way that the spacers don't work so well with the steelies.
I can't imagine what I would have gotten into if I hadn't caught it. obviously i regret not doing an alignment and a balance, and I know as well as anyone that if you do anything to the suspension/wheels, you do that.

The steelies don't need the rings. They are the right diameter. What happened is that the wheels torqued down on the rings, not the hubs.
I almost did the same thing when rotating the tires. One ring stuck in the wheel and one stuck on the hub. Lucky i tried to install the wheel without the ring and realized it did not fit up to the hub like it should. BTW. You really don't need an alignment when you change wheels and if the steelies and tires were balanced when you took them off they don't need it again.

there's enough play in the steelies that they seem to really need the hub.
