i just bought some 18x7 40mm wheels from tsw the sakata fours and i want to know if a 215/40 tire would fit without rubbing, i havent lowered it yet but i like the 215/40 does anyone know if it will rub anywhere

no . a 215/35 tire fits perfect.


the 215/40 may rub. depending upon drop and what not.

 

where would they rub its a stock xb and how much smaller in height are the 215/35

 

215/35 is stock height . 215/40 is oversized.


on a stock xB it probably wouldn;t rub at all. worst case maybe at full lock .

 

if i lowered it it would rub wouldnt it and could i put a 225/35 on a 18x7 wheel

 

225 is a lot of tire on a 7 inch rim. and a lot of tire for a scion.


if you had the 215/40/18 you probably wouldn't rub unless you did more than a 2 inch drop.

 

ok so the 215/40 on a 18x7 stock height wont rub and if i drop it 1.5 inches it wont rub either

 

i've got same size and offset rims with 215-40-18 on S-techs. Fit no problems.

I have 18x7.5 on a 42mm offset (should be more prone to rubbing) with 215/40/18 and a 2" drop no rubs. I did have a slight rub at full turn lock left at stock height...no more rub at -2"
