Default tC TRD Springs

I am wondering if anyone knows the warrenty situation on the TRD Springs for the tC?
I talked to the dealer today and the part cost $225 and the labor $250 to install them. If I buy the part and have someone else install the springs does this void the cars warrenty?

I don't know anything about the warranty myself...I had the dealership do the work though..I believe the warranty won't be valid if someone else does the work..but damn it looks nice with the springs...check mine out. .http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/658636

Self install on the TRD springs does not void the warranty. They will only have a 12 month warranty on the springs if you install them though. The rest of the car will remain under the original warranty. I called Scion and that's what they told me. My dealership would not install them because of some past claims which was lifting a Tacoma, much different than lowering a car! But they refused, so I installed them myself.

In simple terms no. Any aftermarket part put on the car, must be proven to have caused the claimed problem, before they can deny warranty work for you. Its been talked about some & the law name is floating around the forums.
