i would go with yes since i'm pretty sure it will raise the car look for pics of an xa with the trd 18" wheels.

If you put 18s (or 17s for that matter) on an xA, you must lower it! It's something about how the vehicle was designed, it just looks really really "incomplete" without springs.

it will be enough to give it a better look, but I have TRD on the xB and after awhile, ITS NOT ENOUGH, lol. you will want to go lower. look at the Tein s-techs. a lil lower than the TRD's but equally as good if not better...

go with the s techs. and only get 18's if you don't mind a bumpy ride since you'll have to run a pretty slim tire. besides, imo, 17's just work better on an xa. and you can find really good deals on em.

on a side note, look for something with a low offset. it'll definately change the look of the car. trust me.

IMO, you gotta drop it! we dropped my friends xa with goldlines and he had on some 19"s on them. Looked good. if you dont drop it with 17" or 18" its gonna look lifted.

You DO NOT have to drop the car to put 15, 16,.17,18,or 19 iunch wheels on it!!!
There is no mechanical reason that you would have to drop it. The overall diameter of the wheel and tire assembly shouldnt change regardless of the size wheel used. For a bigger wheel the tire will be shorter and when that shorter tire is added to the bigger wheel the over all size is the same. In fact if you put bigger wheels and do not drop it you will have little or no issues with clearing the body (as long as the correct offset and width wheel is used, and you have the same overall diameter of the wheel and tire assembly. )

The reason for dropping the suspension is for looks (many think they look better with less space above the wheel and tire...<<<<<me too), and for lowering the center of gravity which adds very slightly to handling.

Do not let these guys steer you away from a wheel and tire combo you like because you think it "Has to be dropped" . There is absolutly no reason it "has to be dropped, tho the overall look of the vehicle may be improved by doing so.

handling is changed quite a bit by a small drop in the suspension you have then changed the geometry of the suspenion and how it works. yeah a drop should be on preference but if you want to get wheels thats cool as stated above trying to stay within the stock tire size is best. some people think all drops should tuck i don't some cars its cool others no. i prefer my setup with a little gap and having the performance i still desire.

since you want 18's you want to look at the springs rates and figure out what kind of ride quality your looking for. 18's wont give much flex and will ride harsh but if you don't mind and want a sporty ride get a stiffer srping rate otherwise you will want a softer rate to soften it up some. if you get tein i would avoid ebay and get them through an approved dealer last time i looked at them they were having issues with copy cat springs that were not there product.

tentotsu, if you like a comfortable ride, please get 17's. i'm telling you from experience that you'll regret the 18's. one trip on lejeune or anywhere else there's construction and you'll feel everything through the tires. i live in miami too so i know what i'm talking about.

GOLDLINE COIL SPRINGS FTW! everyone says because of the high spring rate the ride is uncomfortable but ive been driving with goldines for 8 months and they havent let me down yet. if you go with goldlines, depending who you get them from, your looking in between $160-$200 shipped. i got mine for $169 shiupped but that was over half a year ago

trd's ride great but aren't low enough imo. s techs ride great, but if you don't want to go that low, i'd take the h techs. basically, anything except the trd.

trd springs only offer a minimal drop. most people prefer goldlines or tanabe df210s.

IMO, there isn't a spring that can drop the xA enough.
