Default Changed my Springs they look nice, but pulled my Axel!

Yea so I got my Df210's on today, the car looks really nice dropped
that far, But I do have a Problem, I obviously wasn't carefull enough
and i ended up pulling out my axel while trying to put my driver
side strut back in place, so i went all poe boy style and put the axel
back in and put the boot (wasn't torn, just the round metal clip thing
came off) back on with a tie wrap wrapped around it, I know im not
the only one on here who this has happened to so SL Peeps help me
out and let me know what i should do.. Dealer? Repair kit?

Thanks

I have changed my struts a bunch of times and have never had that happen, I haven't heard of anyone else having that problem either.

I wouldn't think that the axel would just pull out?

It does happen. It happened to mine when I changed my springs. If you don't support your hub when you pull the strut off, gravity pulls the top outwards- and your axle joint pops right out. The weight will ususally pop the cheapy clamp and/or tear the boot.
It's good if the boot didn't tear at all. Neither did mine. I went to autozone and bought their cheapy universal boot kit, but didn't use the boot itself. I used the clamps that came with it, because they looked better than the ones that came on the car. ...and most importantly: I used the axle grease that came with the kit. Make sure to pack that grease in there and clamp it down really well. If it's not completely sealed, or if your axle doesn't have enough lube to move in, your going to have a really expensive problem down the road. I did mine almost 2 years ago now, and no problem since.
After you fix it, climb under there and check it every now and then. If you find that a boot has a leak, your gonna run into one hugely expensive, or biggest PITA jobs to undertake. Pray for no tears in the boot. They don't make the zip over kind anymore, and taking all of that apart to get the new ones on is no simple thing. Good luck, bro.

Thanks for the info man, i took my box to the dealer today, and they said it
wasn't covered by waranty, because of the springs, but the lady there was
very very nice enough to actually pass it and told me she would do it for free
this time and fix it up for me I just had to wait for the part, so im going tomorrow
to get it installed.. not only did the lady get it hook me up for free, but she also
gave me some free TOYOTA MONEY to buy some food at the little shop
they have.... GOOD SERVICE TOYOTA OF LEWISVILLE TX. :D

Changing an axle in the xB isnt very hard... same operation as a Honda for the most part. Honestly, it would take me about 20 minutes. Granted, I have air tools but it could be done with hand tools and a breaker bar.

you'll be alright man, if you change them just be extra carfull on the drivers side
dont push down on the axle to hard.. if you can get the strut in without pushing
down then that would be best.

Thanks for the heads up. I've had my struts in and out several times and never knew this could happen.
