185 to 215 = what?
Not a math question but going from stock size to 215/40/17 what should I expect from driving characteristics. I searched and all I could find is that its a bit different, but how? I know this is closest to stock wheel diameter
will the steering feel heavier?
will it track on lines in the freeway? (I hate when this happens, car will follow groove)
smoother?
louder? (depends on tire I guess but probably?
good grip, and bad in rain?
slower take off since more wheel patch on the ground?
if 215 is not a good option what would be
thanks

- Increasing tire width can sometimes cause some tracking in the grooves of the road.
- It will not be as smooth as the stockers.
- It could be louder.
- You should have much better dry grip. But increasing tire width can increase the tendanct to hydro-plane.
- More contact patch won't slow your take off enough to notice. Tire/wheel weight is more of a factor in effecting acceleration.
Some of what you may or may not experience with wider +sized tire depends on the type and brand of the tire you choose.
A 205/45/17 is a good size and will give you a bit more sidewall.
on 17x7 wheels will a 205 make the sidewall look like this (side view. looking from back of car to front) /____\ or like this |___| or like this \____/ . Same question with 215.
