Default Scion Named 'Future Collector Car' by CNN

That's right, if you are a Scion owner then you are driving tomorrow's classic. Other winners of the top ten list included: Toyota FJ Cruiser, Mini Cooper, Lotus Elise, Dodge Viper, Acura NSX, Audi TT, Jaguar XK, Chrysler 300, and smart ForTwo.

Hagerty's "Future Collectibles" list included the "Toyota Scion." Of course, Scion isn't a specific car, it's a separate brand -- Toyota's anti-Lexus -- that includes, for now, three different models.

Scion is targeted at the young, thrifty and hip. The cars are simple, not terribly powerful and made to be easily customized. To maintain maximum flexibility, Scions are rarely sold off the dealer's lot. Most are held at the port until a customer has signed an order, That way, whatever add-ons or decals the customer wants can be put on right before delivery.

The tall, boxy Scion xB is the most popular model and the most instantly recognizable to American consumers. The version shown here is the xB Release Series 4.0 which features color-shifting paint.

You didn't take yours out of the package did you? The value drops considerably if you open the packaging.

Someone get me a ____ load of plastic wrap! I'm gonna hang on to the box until it's worth enough to send my kids though school. (wait, chances are it will just be the car they drive to school due to the reliablility, but oh well)

LOL!!! My friend and I were havin' an argument about this today! I told him it would probably become a collector's item. He doesn't think it will fly because "it's not a sports car."

A friend was just telling me he heard this was the last year (we all have known this for a while, but he is not into Scion yet). He then says it is a good thing, as the value should rise. But with the mileage and the fun factor, I agre with the post above my son (now 10) will probably drive this to school.

Everyone stay boxy out there!!

so is this just the xb or the whole line up in general. they kind of elude from the whole line up of cars.

Looks like just the xB since the lineup is very model specific - sorry...
