hey, i was just wondering if 18x7.5 w/ 215/35s would fit on an xA with a 1inch wheel adapters. i wanted to know becasue i dont want to have to sell brand new rims from my old car to get some for this one.

I'll take a stab and sume he meant 1in wheel spacers. Kinda consused most because there usually measured in MM.

 

ok, i have more time to explain now. the rims on my 240sx right now are 4x114.3 mm.
the scion lug pattern is 4x100mm. in order to save money by not having to buy new rims, you can get wheel adapters. all they are is big wheel spacers with 8 holes. the plate bolts down where the wheel usually goes and new bolts are the changed size where you put your wheel. the only problem is that the smallest one they make is 1 inch. i have 18x7.5 w/ +42 offset. i just read earlier how someone sadi they had trouble with 18x8 w/ +42 offset and mine would stick out more than thise. im just trying to save money by not having to buy new rims for a new car, seeing as how my rims are only a month old on my old car.

Actually, the problem with running high offset wheels on the Scion is quite the opposite; there isn't a problem of the wheels sticking out, but instead, of the wheels sucking in too far and hitting the rear suspension arm! The Scions are very "JDM" in that they are designed to be able to accept very low offset wheels, and in a staggered fitment, too. So running 1" adapters would actually be a GOOD thing, except for the fact that I personally don't trust most adapters unless I knew of their origin. There are too many poorly-made ones, and in fact, even high quality ones can fail. (My friend had one fail on him on the freeway, which totalled his car!)

 

well, do you know of any reliable adapters and how much they may cost. im just trying to save 100s by not having to buy another set of 18s in this lifetime, they are expensive.

welll, ive seen a few different kinds of adapters, but like scionvan said, they can be unreliable if they are cheaply made. i know a person who ordered his from a place out of colorado and they are supposed to be top quality. they arent pretty expensive (right around 230$ including shipping) but thats much less than selling my new rims and having to buy new ones.

If you sold off your existing wheels, and saved on not buying wheel adapters, you could potentially get some decent wheels that fit w/o adapters, too. So that's another option to consider.

 

1" spacers on a ET42 wheel is going to give you ET16.6... I think this is going to be VERY aggresive for the front end of the xB... you will most likely have to run fender flares or something to compensate. The rears might take it... but it'll be close. I'd say fender rolling is going to be a must.
