Default Help a rims noobie! RS3 XB - UPDATE- Trim rings help?

Alrighty, so I've had my XB RS3 for a while now with the factory special edition rims or whatever they are, and I'm sick of 'em. My mother drove the XB for a bit and scratched the hell out of 'em (oh well, I don't like them anyway) and I've been meaning to replace them for a while. I don't know ANYTHING about rims and I am not a fanatic about them, but I can appreciate a good pair. No spinners or anything outrageous, just classy stuff. I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions for my RS3? Pics?

Thanks,
MK

EDIT: So I've decided to do Trim Rings, Chrome lug nuts, and Dust Caps. Help on which ones to buy and where, along with any other helpful info.

Alabama. I was hoping to see some online and check 'em out that way.

Yes, I'm IN alabama, but I was born in Chicago... So I'm not some hillbilly redneck.

go to tirerack.com and you can see the rims on your car before u get them. they have alright prices but its a nice place to look at. wheelsnext.com and buywheelstoday.com have better prices.

Alrighty, 17's. I'm mainly looking for a semi-stylish rim that won't effect quality of the car negatively and goes well with the Envy Green color, with a good price.

Quite of few Envy greens on here have black wheels. I went with a 16" rim. Silver works good too.

Check this thread for more ideas of what different wheels will look like.

Niiice car man. I like the black rims a lot with the envy green... That's probably the color I will choose.

If you really want to get a feel for how the black rims look, do what I did. Chuck the hubcaps and use trim rings. Rocked this look for a while till I got rims.

Yup....Any local parts store. They are chrome rings that snap on to the rim. There is also a center cap you can add as well.
This thread will give you all the info:

Ok, so for the trim rings I would probably get
http://kttrading.stores.yahoo.net/stainlesssteel.html

and for the lug nuts I would probably get
http://www.brandsport.com/grla-71137.html

and for the dust covers I would get the Napa part# 730-2411.

Right?

For the trim rings would I get 15's or what? A lot of people in the thread said 15's but I'm unsure. I have the normal stock tires and everything...

Also, if anyone has better links for parts (cheaper, better quality, whatever) please share. I like this look, and I will end up doing it more than likely.

Yup....15s. Just go to NAPA if you have one nearby. That way you can get everything at once.

Oh, I can get everything there?

Do you happen to know the part numbers for all the items, or will I just look at a catalog or something? I just want to make sure I get everything right- I want it all to be shiny, last a while, fairly inexpensive (compared to rims), and the correct sizes and such.

Thanks for all of your help man, I appreciate it.

Ok, I want to make sure this is correct for the dustcap.

Either their online store is REALLY incorrect to their actual stores, or I am just stupid and can't find the Lug nuts nor the trim rings. I just don't wanna screw up and order the wrong thing. And yes, I'm stressing over this FAR more than I should. :D

The last link is for the small center cap. And yeah...they should have everything there. If not you can get it seperatly online. Either way is good.

Another super cheap option is painting the wheel covers.

It's curbed my need to get rims for a while, and great for winter.

Wow, the paint looks really good but I think I like the trim and such more-so. Thanks for the idea!

I just got 15in trim rings from autozone (within the first couple of hours I bought the car). I think they were like $10 a peice, they're cheap
