oldyeller...does it rub? I usually have my 5yr old and 1 adult in the back. I get my springs tommorow and I need tires...the tire shop is telling me to go with 215-45-17,instead of 205-45-17 what i have now....thanks for the feedback!

I too have a 215/45/17 on a 17x7 with +45 offset, stock suspension and it rubs a little in the front (full lock on the left turns) even with a 1/4 inch spacer. It really depends on your wheel.

Mine rubbed in the rear only dropped 1.5 inches but only because I had the 1 ton spacers and Monroe shocks out back. Caught the very corner edge of the tire in the front edge of the wheelwell inner lip. And only over deep dips and bumps.

Default rubbing

I have been very pleased with running 215/45-r17 tires on +40mm offset Motegi MRM wheels...but I did get rub in either direction at the extremes of steering. Easy fix, though, just remove the thin plastic inner fenders and trim out the area where you see the rubbing. Reinstall the now trimmed inner fenders and no more problems...and you are not really exposing a significant amount of area that was previously covered so no worries. I have been driving this way for a year now.

How hard is it to remove the plastic inner fender?

Default inner fender

The inner fenders come off with plastic body pins (just pop the pin out with a flat tip screwdriver, and remove the assembly) and phillips head screws. Hardest body pin to get to is in the rear of the fender well underneath the side lips (you can just unscrew the side lip connection nearest the fenderwell [covered by a paint matched circular plug], and pull it out a little bit to get to the body pin in question). It sounds a lot harder than it is...very intuitive once you start. About 1.5 hours from start to finish if you take a mandatory union break!
