For all the DF210 Peeps out there
Did I do this right? Instructions were pretty vague on where to actually put the plastic loom around the coils. It is supposed to be on the rear coils like this correct?
I am not 100% sure but I think that the part you have toward the middle of the springs is likely too far down them. The purpose of this plastic wrap is to sit between the coils that will be nearly completely collapsed when installed. That would be the top 4 coils on these. I would bet that you should slide the plastic that is toward the middle of the spring up more toward the top. There is no point in having this wrap on any coils that will not come in contact with other coils during compression. Install a spring and compress it with a jack until it starts to lift that corner of the car). Install the wrap so that the bottom of it (toward the middle of the spring) is at the point where the the spring coils almost contact (from this point down they will be father apart). From that point to the top is where you want the wrap.
From what I could make of the japanese instructions, that's exactly how I did mine. What he says ^^^^ really makes sense though and that's probably why mine are noisey every now and then when they compress/decompress.
Hurry up and get those on the box I wanna see. haha

Thanks guys. I have a lot of extra loom left over and the way I did it is like the instructions as you said salteen. I think I will take the extra loom and add it to the middle coil so it will look like this:

Would that be better? The ones without loom would not be touching the other ones without so I think it will work out.

Sweet thanks guys. Can someone tell me where the dead coils go in the rear? They go towards the bottom right? The part with the plastic over it is what I'm talking about.
lowered my xb saturday, back springs are upside down (according to the df210 printed on them) close coils (dead coils) are on top, wraped every other coil in the black plastic wrap it rides great no noise from the back. the front went in letters up (df210) and I used the coil wrap from the stock springs and what was left over from the back to wrap the top coils, the front does make a creaky sound when driving slow over speed bumps and driveways but no noise at speed. over all very impressed with the ride, expected more bounce and some what stiffer ride. my 2001 malibu lowered 1.3" with eibach pro-kit rides much stiffer and harsh. if you have more questions about my install post back on here, and check back.

My DF 210's are installed with the dead coils on the bottom (at the back) and it rattles like you wouldn't believe
I'm almost embarrassed to bring people in my car
Maybe I'll look to see if I can't take them out and re-install them with the dead coils at the top instead?

I actually forgot to mention that I enjoy the ride on the 210's much more. For some reason hitting all the bumps on my daily drive is a lot more comfortable.
It might just be because the springs aren't settled yet though. I wish they would hurry up and settle!

I've had the DF210s on my wifes car for well over a year. The dead coils go on bottom. Of course hers are the white powder coated coils, not the red.
And when I wrapped the coils I just started at the bottom and kept wrapping until there was no spring wrap left. I provided just a little bit of spacing between each time the wrap came around the coil. Wraping this way provided more than enough wrap to do each of the dead coils and the lower coils.
The ride is great and there is no noise.
