Well I might be wrong but u can only get 17's for those tires. I think that the last number on: 245/45/17 is the size of the tire therefore the size of the rim.

Its funny that you have the tire but not the rims...is usually the other way around... :D

7.5 - 9 inch width is what would fit. You also need to be aware that those tires are larger in diameter than the stock ones so 2 things will happen. First is that the speedometer is going to be off and read slower. So at 55.4mph on your speedo your true speed is going to be 60mph. So your really going faster than what it says and the faster you go the further is will be off. The speedo difference is 8.172% slower. Second is that you are going to raise the height of the car. The stock tire is 23.74 inches tall and the new tires are 25.68 inches tall. So you will sit almost an inch higher than stock. 195/45/17 or 215/40/17 are the closest match to stock tires.

Good point but 1 thing. The stock speedo is off any ways. The JDM market has 185/65R15 tires. Most ppl on here say there speedo is a little off & thats because of the 185/60R15 tires we get here. So take into account the speedo is set for a 24.5" tire. So the difference would be not that great. Also how can you have a 218/40R17 tire? Go with a 205/45R17. I guess the other thing I need to ask is what car is this for? A xA, xB or tC?

Anyway here is the link for calculating your tire sizes.

Yeah I have that same problem also. Thanks for the link, have we found out what car this is for? If its a xA or xB I think that size is way to big , I could be wrong but I think 215 is the widest I have seen on a 17" wheel.

Most tires in the size of 245/45R17 will fit on a 17 inch wheel with a width of 7.50 to 9.00 inches with the width of 8.00 inches being ideal. What is the make, model, and year of the vehicle these tires are going to be used on?
