There's been many different schools of thought regarding the dead coils of the rear springs. There's even a thread going specifically regarding the DFs. In theory, the spring will act the same regardless of the dead coil orientation.

as it get the job done
I got my parts from Direct Tunning .com $449 shiped (df210s/tanabe axel back)
the springs in the rear are upside down, did it on purpose because almost all cars I've seen have the dead coils on top. It does not matter which way you put them, they make no noise and they hold the car up nuff said.

And the exhaust sounds great you can hear it on tanabe us .com At 65mph you cant here it, the road noise covers it up. In the city it makes a nice low tone but you can hear it between 2000-3500rpm (loudest at 3000). I think its perfect for a daily driver, it does not drone at all.
