Default 42mm Offset??

Will I run into any problems running a rim that has a 42mm offset?

I'm running 17x7 with 215/40R17 dropped on Gold-lines with no problems. Everybody will laugh at you, but that wasn't a problem for me. The OTG rear spacer shims cut the laughing down to quiet snickers and giggles, so it's all good.

you only need the shims for looks. You shouldn't have any rubbing issues that you need spacers for. I like the Gold-lines fine. I've heard they're bouncy, rough, etc., but I'm happy with them. I've heard nothing but great things about Eibach sportlines. If I was to do it over again I would probably go that direction.

My wheels are 18x7.5 42MM offset tthey fit fine even with 215/40/18 tires on them. The inside edges of the rears are VERY close to the rear axle beam tho. I put 5MM wheel spacers on the rear to get a bit more clearance on the inside this spacing still leaves a little on the outside as well.

God I loved my Goldlines AHH well woosh woosh is cool too

H&R has 5mm for front, and OTG has 10mm for the rear. Now that i think about it OTG does sell 5mm or 10mm spacers (round)

You know at this moment I am not positive of the brand but OTG sounds familiar. I will try to remember to look at the box when I am home tonight and post the brand (My memory isn't the best after a long day so don't hold your breath please). They came with a set of extended studs which for only 5MM certainly are not needed for my wheels. If the wheel being installed were thicker in the mounting area you might need them so it is cool they are included, tho I am sure the price is higher because of this.

Yes I really liked the ride and handling of the Goldlines. I got in the car and within 2 blocks of driving after the install I was in love On the way home I went thru a marked suggested speed 25-30MPH series of curves that I know and use to see how handling is (been driving this set of curves for 10 years in various cars of mine). The car went thru this series of 6 curves at around 50 MPH with smoother more accurate response and less body roll than the stock springs at the same speeds a few days before. The biggest difference tho was just the absolute smoothness of the ride. No jittery bouncy feel at all. I have lowered cars for years using dropped springs, cut springs, spindles, air, etc. The ride of these springs on the xB is the best I have ever gotten from any lowered combo I have built. Never before have I driven a couple blocks and exclaimed outloud to myself "Oh Wow". Usually a dropped spring adds stiffness and a slightly harsher ride. Some people like this feel. I am partial to a soft smooth comfortable ride on springs that handle well in the corners as well. These springs deliver that.!! IF, I was racing or autocrossing, or drove my box like I was in the Lemans these might be just a little soft. Why put up with a rough race car ride if you aren't racing? The answer to this question is WHEN the ONLY parts available to allow you to go as low as you want make the ride rough

A bit later I added a set of Hotchkiss sway bars. You want an awesome ride with phenominal steering response try this set up The car turns amazingly quicker with less body roll. From what I have read here on the forums and my guess as well is that most of the handling difference from the sway bars is from the addition of the rear bar not the upsized front bar of this set. All I can tell you for sure is that I loved the Goldlines and loved them even more in combo with the Hotchkiss sways. (the front sway bar is a pain in the butt to install. It would be very difficult to manipulate in and out without a lift.....it can be done I am told.....so be forwarned. I used a buddies lift and it was still a bit of a pain. It isn't particulary hard, took my son and I about 1 hour, it is just that the way the sway bar winds in and out of things getting into position makes a lift nearly essential.

Terrible Ted i think you just about sold me on the Goldlines. I have heard WAY too many good things about these springs it would almost be dumb for me to go for something else. Thank you very much for all your info. It helped me out alot.
