Default xB RS4 Color Revealed: Mazora

New concept bB in Japan will have Maziora, or "Magic" color changing paint. Would be sweet if we got these here. Hot lava color changing, nice.

I love babelfish translations:

"What is Maziora"
"Original color ring, even in music sport industry マジョーラ of popularity. In the paint membrane (マジョーラベース) the special pigment which is included (the マ jaw ラ pigment), we form 5 layer system, from the surface surface 50% and remaining 50% reflects light at central layer. Per angle and the light which you see it does and is to be with expression of color changes, the dynamic color shift, furthermore pulls the forum where the car is beautiful and can stand."

Darren - I changed the subject and added this photo:

you can get that here too. It's been around for a while. It's just a custom paint job.

Yeah, I think DuPont was the first one out with it. Chrome Illusion IIRC :?

After thinking about it for a minute. Shade shifting paint wouldn't be such a great idea. Atleast not on a daily driver. This paint will make EVERY dimple you get stick out like a sore thumb since it will "change" color where ever there is a curve in the sheet metal.

Just my $0.02

You stated exaclty what I was going to say, my buddy had his girlfriend's civic done in Chrome Illusion dupont, first off paint job cost him $6,000.
Then she backed into, or hit something 3 different occasions, and the car had to be redone each time, diffently not worth the trouble.
Now if it would be strictly a show BB, a trailer queen, that would be sweet to have, but a daily driver diffently not!

I paint as a hobby, and the "magic" paints been around FOREVER. I've always called it (and heard it called) Cameleon. I personally use mostly House of Kolor, but most of the big time Co.s have a similar product.

I just saw a New Beetle painted like that this morning. It looked pretty sweet, was wondering how it might look on a Box. It was a lighter green - red shift tho.

There is a old 50's or 60's chevy truck around here that rolls with the color change paint. I like it, it shifts from a white, blue, red, very light pink like color but still looks sweet.

Yeah, VWoA made limited edition New Beetles with this paint, calling it Chromaflair, in '03. There are two versions, silver to green, and silver to purple. About 500 exist of each...

chameleon paint (although it looks good) is played out, it's been out for a really long time but shown up on a whole lot of cars for like 5 to 6 years and now it sems like every ____ty car at a show has it. It's probably not a good idea to make it a stock color because not only will toyota probably charge you an extra grand or so but everyone who gets the car will probably get what used to be a "custom paint job" so i would think all you xb owners would be against that because it would really cut down on the "uniquness " you all have, right?
