Default Smoother ride - what to do, how much & where to get them

I have a (pretty much) stock '06 xB with stock tires, rims, auto, etc.

After taking a trip to Bozeman, MT and back from L.A. in my wife's Odessey, I realize just how bad my xB rides.

I've searched through the threads, but there is so much different info out there, I'm unsure of what I should do. So, if you will forgive my re-post of the topic and help me out I would sincerely appreciate it.

My questions are:

1. For a smoother ride, what mods should I do? (parts, part #'s, etc.?)

2. Roughly how much does each mod cost (I am not a DIY'er, so I need to figure in both parts and labor).

3. Where is the best place (price & quality) to get each?

Note: Also, if anyone in Studio City or Burbank area knows a good place to get work done on the xB's, I'd love to get that info as well.

Thanks to all for your help,

Stranger

The factory springs are pretty stiff, I put the TRD lowered springs on and the ride improved, I have also read a lot of people switching to Monroe shocks in the rear helps with the ride.

Rear monroe sensatrak shocks help alot, plus they are cheap and easy to put in, front will probably help to(I only have them in the back), but are more $$. you looking at 50-70ish for the rears.

Another big thing is springs, I got eibach pro-kit, much smother ride, though the bigger bumps are more noticable. Tien H-tech are suppossed to give the best ride, but I have no experience with them. Springs are 150-200 depending on brand.

I paid 160 have both installed, 2hrs labor.

Also, the search button does wonders

People swear by the Monroes--do a search for Monroe and read the threads.

Heh, no kidding - my friend drove his old Camry like a maniac, yet it felt like we were drifting on clouds compared to riding an xB.

It depends. If you're planning on dropping it or shelling out to get springs, then wait to improve the ride with whatever kit you get. If you plan on leaving it stock and want something quick and cheap (~$75), get the Monroes for the rear. Make sure your tire pressure is what's marked on the door sticker- dealer seems to makes it several pounds more than recommended. If you only noticed the xB ride after a road trip in a minivan, then you're probably looking for just a little improvement?
