Default 16 inch wheels on an xA

anyone have a picture of 16 inch wheels on an xA? the reason being that i am choosing between 16 and 17 inch konig reasons. the 16's are lighter and cheaper but i want to make sure they look good.

anyone else have to decide between 16 and 17 inch wheels?

no pics yet, but I'm more then likely going with a 16X7 wheel ... and using a 205/50 series tire. I cannot seem to push myself to go to 17" , due to influencing the side-wall/series tire.. will go down to a 40 or 45 ... which will only give me more of a harsh ride. Plus, as you mentioned, 17" cost more out of pocket.. plus 17" tires, on average, cost considerable more $ then a 15" or 16". The cost of tire between 15" and 16" is very minimal.

I'd rather not tell you which wheels I'm going for.. since I dont want my xA to look like someone elses xA I'll give you a hint. They are a 6-spoke design, 2-piece cast - quality cast in Japan (I'd like to go for a forged wheel... but that is like 2-3X more expensive) , and black in color(since I have a PW xA) . I'm getting the wheels for, what I consider a good/fair price , and then I'm gonna put the absolute best rubber I can on them(since it should last 40-50K miles if properly rotated out) .. a good tread pattern.. hopefully as good as possible in ICE road conditions @ about $70-90 ea. range !

I compltely agree with you. FORGED AND LIGHTWEIGHT!!! You cant get any better than that, but at a price tage of $1200.00 for rims only they better be LIGHTWEIGHT AND VERY STRONG!!! Here you go:

WedSports TC-005 Dark Grey 16".

The tire is a 205-55, i needed a taller sidewall, TOO many potholes in PR and i sure as hell dont want a bent or broken rim.

This person just put 16" on his car too:

thanks for posting. i think the 16s are looking nice on the xA

i typically see packages for the xA come with offsets of 37, 40, and 42. any reccomendations? does it matter?

16s look great on xAs and xBs.

Stick with an offset below 40 and you should be fine.

What if the offset is slightly above 40 ? How does that change things ? Will I need spacers(5mm) between wheel and the 4-bolt ?

thanks for the input. im going w 16's and 205/50/16s. feel like there are too many potholes where i live to justify 17s on my commuter car.

i decided on these for my black xA

I bought them on Tirerack.com on special for $249.00 each, plus $200.00 for shipping and another $400.00 for tires, so a total of $1600.00. If im not mistaken Tirerack doesn't have them in 16" anymore, they have them in 15" and 17". Log on to tirerack.com and search for wedsports TC-005, they also sell them in white.
